A young reporter is lured to the ocean by a self-appointed professor who claimes to have a groundbreaking science project to present. But when the two characters meet face to face nothing is as it seems to be. And what starts as a simple interview situation on the beach becomes a struggle for believe and life itself – in a ludicrous way.

Director’s Vita & Filmography
… made first steps telling stories in the theatre scene in Cologne – followed by two years as an assistant director at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg. Theatre production and adaptation of W.S. Burroughs’ Naked Lunch (Cut-up!). At Hamburg University he studied Anglistics and german philology focussing on literature, theatre- and film therory. 2009 Bachelor of Arts in Film Making in Berlin. His short film NOWHERENOW was screened on numerous international film festivals – winning the SAE Alumni Award 2010 for Best Short Film. He concluded his film studies at the University of fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK) with his Diploma in 2011. SCHATTENLINIE is his graduating film.
Volker Schmitt is living in Hamburg and working on his feature film debut and several other projects including a new TV-Series.
