On this Day in Movie History, July 13, 2012: Slyvester Stallone’s Son, Sage, Found Dead at 36

The 36-year-old son of Sylvester Stallone, Sage Stallone, was found dead today at his Los Angeles home. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that there were no signs of foul play and that reports that Sage died from a prescription overdose are premature.

“It could have been a heart attack or a stroke,” LAPD Commander Andrew Smith told People Magazine, adding the coroner’s office will likely spend several weeks on a toxicology report before it determines cause of death.

“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone,” Sylvester’s rep, Michelle Bega, said in a statement. “His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha [Czack]. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever.”
